Cancellation/Refund Policy
Last updated: September 2026
1. When you're charged
Mow Macho collects payment only once a job is completed and you explicitly approve the final price the provider proposes. There is no upfront charge, deposit, or hold placed on your card when you request or accept a job — nothing is charged until work is done and you've approved the amount. See our Terms of Service and Customer Booking Terms for how pricing and payment approval work.
2. Cancelling before work starts
Either party can cancel a job any time before the provider marks it “in progress.” Cancelling is always free — since no payment has been collected yet at that point, there is nothing to charge and nothing to refund. A cancellation made less than 24 hours before a confirmed appointment time is recorded as a “late cancellation” on that party's record, but this is a record only — it never triggers a charge. A job with no confirmed appointment time yet can never be recorded as late. If you cancel after reporting that your provider didn't show up, that cancellation is never treated as late.
3. If a provider doesn't show up
Once a confirmed appointment time has passed, you can report that your provider didn't show up. This is recorded on the provider's record and doesn't itself involve a charge or a refund — payment for that job hasn't been collected yet (see Section 1), so there is nothing to refund at that point. You're free to cancel the job afterward at no cost.
4. Once work has started
A job can no longer be cancelled through the app once a provider has marked it “in progress.” If something goes wrong with completed work, you can dispute the job instead of confirming it.
5. Disputing completed work and refunds
If you're not satisfied with a completed job, you can dispute it rather than confirming it. A Mow Macho admin reviews every dispute and decides a resolution, which may include a refund of the amount you were charged. A refund, when issued, is a full refund of that job's charge — Mow Macho doesn't currently support partial refunds — and is processed through Stripe, our payment processor, typically back to the original payment method. We aim to review disputes promptly but don't guarantee a specific timeline.
There's no separate self-service “request a refund” button — disputing the job from its job detail page is how a refund review gets started. If you have a question about a charge or a job that's already closed, use Contact support.
